With a strategic and collaborative mindset, you will be fully responsible for leading all aspects of corporate communications including traditional and digital media engagement, executive visibility, as well as employee and client communications events and crisis management for Shiseido Travel Retail. You will be playing an instrumental role in leading global/region-wide communications initiatives as a key representative of Shiseido Travel Retail.

Reporting to the President and CEO of Shiseido Travel Retail, you will lead a team of 3 to work closely with the Executive Committee, Travel Retail Asia Pacific team, the regional communications team across Travel Retail markets (including EMEA, Americas, Japan), and global HQ (Japan) to:

  • Formulate and develop strategic communication plans, designed to support all aspects of communications, both internal and external, to enhance "One Shiseido" in Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to the management team of Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Tailor global messages and campaigns for specific audiences and channels.
Internal Communications

  • Lead the development and implementation of employee communications strategies and advise on tactics to support key initiatives and business as usual elements, not limited to executive communications, change management, people-related programs, and engagement events.
  • Partner key stakeholders and lead the team in curating content and key messages for various platforms as well as speeches for events, not limited to the intranet, launches and town hall.
Public Relations (PR) and Corporate Events

  • Identify emerging opportunities and issues, to develop and execute corporate PR strategies to enhance visibility and positive perception of Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Curate and capitalize on appropriate opportunities to proactively raise our media profile, industry thought leadership position and executive profiling of our Executive Committee members.
  • Formulate and implement Shiseido Travel Retail media and public relations strategies including corporate events, publications through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders as well as media representatives to boost brand, social and media relations for Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Responsible for key corporate events end-to-end from planning to implementation, including negotiating and establishing partnerships with external agencies.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

  • Elevate Shiseido Travel Retail's position as a responsible corporate citizen, develop and implement group-wide CSR initiatives aligned against our sustainability strategy and to promote active participation for these initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HQ to strategize and lead the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility topics in Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Regularly review the impact of community engagement efforts, monitor trends and competitors' initiatives to continuously enhance contribution.
Issues / Crisis Management

  • Develop robust Crisis communication framework, lead, and as key counsel for crisis communications and issues management to execute appropriate response plans to manage reputational risks for Shiseido Travel Retail.
  • Min. 15 years of experience in devising media, public relations, communication campaigns and/or events in a fast-paced MNC environment.
  • Experience in driving strategic communications plans and working with C-suites to translate management imperatives into external and internal narratives.
  • Solution orientated, decisive by nature and resourceful in the approach. Demonstrated ability to identify strategic priorities, bring together different stakeholders and move an agenda forward to resolution and action.
  • A creative and hands-on executor who can strategize and efficiently and effectively program manage across multiple, concurrent campaigns.
  • Strong collaborator, partnership oriented and active integrator as this role will require candidates to be inherently capable of driving integration and alignment across business units and functional areas.
  • Proven track record of proactive issues management and crisis preparedness.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and demonstrated capability to synthesize complex information into concise and succinct messages.
  • Experience coordinating global announcements and releases, including content creation (e.g., press releases) as needed for specific regions/markets to support communications needs.
  • Ability to mentor and nurture talent to deliver on communications and public relations excellence.
