Job description

Reporting to the Brand Director based in Singapore, the Brand Manager is responsible for leading and managing Japanese brands IPSA, The Ginza and BAUM in the Travel Retail (TR), working with two key TR regions at present i.e. Shiseido Travel Retail Asia and Japan. Other TR regions (EMEA, Americas) will depend on the brands' future expansion plans. The role requires the experience to:
- Accelerate IPSA, one of the fastest growing skincare brands in the Shiseido TR - Leverage its unique brand proposition of minimalism and customisation of a skincare recipe best suited for the individual, to target the post-90's consumer.
- Develop The Ginza, the uber-lux brand within Shiseido TR - Build brand equity and the distribution of this high-performing minimalist tailor-made skincare brand targeting the discerning and affluent consumer.
- Launch BAUM, a new brand which focuses on "the power of trees". Based on the concept of "coexistence with nature", valued by Japanese people for centuries, the brand aims to realize a sustainable society that fully embraces the blessings of trees and preserves them for the future.
Brand Holder Key Reference
You are responsible for acting as a key point with the Brand Holders and other internal and external stakeholders on the subsequent steps:
- Adapting and implementing the brand strategy as defined with Brand Director
- Liaising with Brand Holders for TR-related developments (TREX,360 activation campaigns and expansion plans)
Brand Marketing Strategy
You are responsible for developing, implementing and executing 360 marketing initiatives and activities for the brands:
- Defining short- and long-term brand strategy (in collaboration with the regions) based on consumer and market insights, commercial analysis and distribution opportunities
- Building realistic, yet innovative 360 plans taking into account competition, sales performance, trends and cost aspects, & regional specificities
- Developing TR exclusive concepts and implementation plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as external agencies
Brand Foundation
Set up the foundation of the different brands when it comes to launches and expansion in TR, including defining processes, guidelines and best practices.
Business Analysis
Beyond being responsible for the marketing strategies by brand, you are also in charge of managing and monitoring the brand P&L, monthly sales and market share performance, ROI measurements for marketing and digital activities, and identifies short- and long-term market growth opportunities by:
- Working with regional marketing, sales, demand planning, finance teams and Brand Holders to develop brand KPIs and measure results
- Delivering results for the brand level P&L focusing on retail sales, net sales and brand contribution

Profile

- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or equivalent
- At least 6 years of relevant experience and prior experience in cosmetics/ beauty/ retail industry will have an advantage
- Excellent communication skills - verbal, written to include report writing and group presentations
- Visible Leadership skills - can motivate and lead with integrity others to achieve results
- Commercially sound with experiences in launching new brands/ development brands with a good understanding of profit and loss accounting, sell-in/ sell out analysis, ROI calculation and the influence of operating factors e.g. volume v price
- Creative and able to think big and act in detail
- Excellent organisation skills, able to prioritise
- Solution orientated, decisive by nature and resourceful in the approach
- A collaborative team player - concerned with the team success as well as individual performance
- Well developed interpersonal skills; good listener, will challenge constructively and respond well to feedback
- Self starter - high energy levels with positive and a collaborative can do mentality
