Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION Plan, manage and deliver Education Strategy for Origins, Aveda, Lab Series and ADF in support of brands' direction and sales objectives within TR APAC region. Working in partnership with New York Global and Regional Education teams in the development and adaptation of education programs and initiatives for TR APAC region. Lead and develop team of Education Managers, Education Executives, Field Trainers and Sales & Education Executives to implement education calendar for TR APAC as well as technical and general capabilities skill set. Identify team and field staff learning needs, acquire relevant knowledge of market trends, understanding evolving consumer needs to adapt selling strategies to optimize brand and education outreach within the region. RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, manage and deliver Education Strategy for Origins, Aveda, Lab Series and ADF in support of brands' direction and sales objectives within TR APAC region. Support VP/GM in the implementation of business strategies through effective education in TR. Translate business objectives into education needs by understanding the business priorities and its implication on the field selling approach. Lead the Education team in TR APAC to work with Marketing and Sales stakeholders to clearly identify education needs, map them against specific training tools and time frame to realize a roadmap towards the achievement of business goals. Set clear expectations with Education team and align education strategy with focus on market/region needs and specificities to achieve desired results. Working in Partnership with New York Global and Regional Education teams in the development and adaptation of education programs and initiatives for TR APAC region. Establish rapport with the global and regional teams and build authority as the frame of reference for the brand in respect to the Asian travelling consumer. Adapt global education strategy to fit the needs of travel retail - this would include adaptation at different levels for programs including (but not exhaustive): basic training, seasonal school, high touch service offerings/consultations, counter managers'/mentor program, Education seminars etc. Play a key role in coordinating with APAC affiliates/Regional team on consolidated tasks such as translations, adaptation and delivery of education materials (incl. customization), launch of education programs etc. Work in collaboration with APAC Regional Education team to share synergies with respect to adaptation and implementation of programs where possible. Identify team and field staff learning needs, acquire relevant knowledge of market trends, understanding evolving consumer needs to adapt selling strategies to optimize brand and education outreach within the region. Plan and engage in systematic market visits within TR APAC to understand trends and establish a clear understanding of field needs within respective regions. With the knowledge, provide constructive feedback and work in close partnership with Global and Regional Education teams in developing education materials for the regions. Work with Education Managers and Trainers to understand and utilize market intelligence to make adaptations to the training curriculum, where necessary. Share of emerging/new market trends with sales and marketing teams to identify trending needs. Monitor the quality of training (including classroom, at counter or VC) as well as keep track of trainers' capacities and developmental needs. Lead and work closely with Education Managers, Education Executives, Field Trainers and Sales & Education Executives to implement education calendar for TR APAC. Ensure that there is an appropriate and consistent on-boarding program for all new Education staff and BAs. Work with the education team in respect to the APAC Education Calendar - which may be in sync with marketing calendar but not completely replicative. Management of overall training budget - and ensuring that the Education Managers have clarity on their regional budgets. Collaborate with local affiliates on material sharing, translation and workbook production where possible. Share best practices (within and outside the region). Set clear standards and benchmarks for TR sales and service standards. Work with the Education team to ensure consistency in delivery of training materials and key brand messaging. Directly involved in the planning and delivery of Education Conference/Seminar to provide clear communication on brand messages and direction. Developing and mentoring the TR APAC Education Managers and Trainers with respect to technical and general capabilities skill set. Responsible for the recruitment and development of Education Managers/Education Executives/Field Trainers for TR APAC Ensure that they are well equipped to deliver brand education - taking into consideration adaptation requirements for each region. Ensure that there is a systematic approach to track development and performance, both for Experts and Trainers. Conduct regular feedback sessions with trainers to monitor progress and set measurable goals, working with the team to attain them. Special Event Support where necessary and developing Education Managers and Field Trainers to have skill set in this aspect. Work with Marketing and Sales team to provide on-site support for high profile consumer/retailer events. Work in tandem with Sales Team on pre-event/re-promote/launch training requirement and collateral to maximize event impact. Work with trainers to develop training modules to support events, to ensure that brand standards are adhered to, and a proper event protocol is put in place. Help to develop trainers in "event expertise" to provide more proximate and frequent support for on-counter and consumer consultation events. Others Establish and maintain a good working relationship with Marketing and Sales teams, as well as regional education colleagues to maximize leverage. Ensure that Education Managers/Education Executives/Field Trainers/BAs adhere to brand image requirements and maintain a high standard of grooming and hygiene Ensure standardization of evaluation formats (for Education Managers, Education Executives, Field Trainers and BAs). Ensure that trainers complete and submit reports after each training, promotion, special event, and store visit and to share with internal teams.

Profile

REQUIREMENTS Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin is a requirement as the candidate need to review/translate materials from English to Mandarin. Strong leadership skills and an excellent team player with ability to motivate others Strong presentation skills and possess a highly influential nature Positive attitude and driven Experience - minimum 5 years of relevant experience in training, with at least 3 years of experience in managerial role. Prior Experience in the cosmetic retail, beauty industry or Travel Retail would be preferred. Education - University degree preferred. Willingness to travel up to 50% when business goes back to a new normal
